I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
